Duties and Responsibilities

The Director, Curriculum and Test Development will report to the Secretary/CEO and will oversee curriculum research, development, and examination processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading research initiatives to inform curriculum design and review
  • Coordinating the recruitment and training of subject matter experts in collaboration with the HR Division
  • Organizing stakeholder engagement forums to gather feedback on curriculum matters
  • Supervising development and revision of curriculum content
  • Preparing work plans for curriculum rollout and post-implementation activities
  • Developing transition frameworks and related policy documents
  • Overseeing recruitment and training of examination setters
  • Managing moderation processes to ensure exams align with approved syllabuses
  • Supervising preparation of pilot examination papers after syllabus reviews
  • Analyzing examination performance and preparing evaluation reports
  • Safeguarding the security and integrity of examinations
  • Managing risks related to curriculum and test development

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • At least fifteen (15) years of cumulative work experience, with three (3) years served at Deputy Director level or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Education, Finance, Law, ICT, Forensic Examination, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution
  • Membership in a relevant professional body and in good standing (where applicable)
  • Leadership course certificate lasting at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Valid practicing certificate where applicable
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Proven managerial and professional competence demonstrated through performance results

Salary & Benefits (Estimated Range)

Basic Salary Scale:
KSh. 195,000 x 16,250 – 260,000 x 21,250 – 345,000 (8 increments)
