Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Research and Business Development, the successful candidate will:

  • Lead and coordinate research projects aligned with KASNEB’s mandate
  • Generate research findings to inform policy and legislative discussions
  • Promote knowledge management practices within the organization
  • Identify priority research themes and prepare research proposals
  • Develop appropriate data collection tools and research methodologies
  • Oversee research studies and related interventions in key programme areas
  • Coordinate surveys in collaboration with internal departments
  • Review policy statements relating to KASNEB at regional and international levels
  • Support publication and distribution of research papers and policy briefs

Requirements / Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • At least fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, including three (3) years at the level of Assistant Director Planning or in a comparable role
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Commerce, Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Project Planning and Management, Risk Management, or a related discipline from a recognized institution
  • Master’s degree in Economics, Public Policy, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education, Project Planning and Management, Risk Management, or a related field from a recognized institution
  • Membership in a relevant professional body where applicable and in good standing
  • Leadership course certificate of at least four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
  • Valid practicing certificate or license where applicable
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Demonstrated merit and strong performance record
