Duties and Responsibilities
The Clinical Research Scientist will support research and clinical activities in accordance with approved protocols and institutional guidelines. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the implementation of assigned pre-clinical and clinical research projects
- Supervising designated components of clinical and pre-clinical studies as required
- Providing general diagnosis, treatment, care, and specialized clinical services to study participants
- Assisting with fieldwork activities related to research studies and data collection
- Participating in pre-clinical and clinical experimental procedures under supervision
- Carrying out experimental and developmental research work aligned with study objectives
- Contributing to the interpretation, validation, and documentation of research results
- Supporting community diagnosis, care, and treatment activities during corporate social initiatives
- Assisting in the planning and coordination of internal scientific seminars and meetings
- Guiding visiting scientific students and interns on attachment during research activities
- Supporting the maintenance and proper functioning of pre-clinical and clinical research facilities
- Ensuring research environments comply with safety, ethical, and operational standards
- Preparing basic clinical and research-related reports when required
- Performing any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor in support of research goals

Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution (mandatory)

Salary & Benefits (Estimated Range)
- Estimated monthly salary range: KES 180,000 – KES 250,000 (gross), aligned with public sector contract scales for grade KMR 05
- Contract duration: One (1) year, renewable subject to availability of funds
- Probation period: First three (3) months of the contract
- Additional benefits and allowances will be provided in accordance with institutional policies
