Duties and Responsibilities
The ICT Assistant will provide day-to-day technical support to ensure reliable ICT services at the Kargeno site. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with routine maintenance and configuration of computer hardware and software
- Installing, updating, and configuring operating systems and application software
- Supporting regular data backup processes and assisting with data-related departmental tasks
- Troubleshooting and resolving desktop computer, printer, and peripheral equipment issues
- Providing technical advice and recommendations to study and operational teams
- Working closely with the ICT Officer to address internet connectivity challenges and downtime
- Supporting staff with ICT-related queries and ensuring compliance with institutional ICT policies and relevant government regulations
- Offering basic ICT training and user support to new and existing staff
- Assisting in organizing and conducting Continuous Medical Education (CME) or training sessions related to emerging ICT issues
- Maintaining accurate records of ICT equipment, configurations, and support activities
- Performing additional ICT-related duties as assigned to support efficient site operations

Requirements / Qualifications

- Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (mandatory)

Salary & Benefits (Estimated Range)
- Estimated monthly salary: KES 60,000 – KES 90,000, based on job grade KMR 07
- One-year contract, renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance
- Three-month probation period at the beginning of the contract
- Benefits and allowances will be provided in line with institutional policies
