Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will contribute to the development and expansion of safety net and microinsurance solutions aimed at improving resilience among smallholder farmers. The position involves research, innovation, partnerships, and programme delivery.
Market Research and Opportunity Assessment
- Conduct detailed research to understand farmer needs and identify potential opportunities for microinsurance products
- Evaluate new markets and determine the feasibility of introducing safety net programmes
- Develop strategies for entering and establishing programmes in new locations
Product Development and Innovation
- Design financial protection solutions that are simple, practical, and tailored to farmers’ needs
- Translate complex insurance concepts into easy-to-understand products
- Test and refine product ideas through field trials and feedback from users
- Continuously improve solutions based on performance data and stakeholder input
Programme Implementation and Pilot Management
- Lead pilot projects from planning through to execution and evaluation
