Duties and Responsibilities
The selected candidate will support data engineering and analytics processes across the DISC project and related programs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using cloud-based or open-source platforms
- Transform raw data into structured, high-quality datasets for reporting and analytics
- Apply data cleaning and transformation techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as user guides and standard operating procedures
- Support machine learning workflows by building feature pipelines and integrating models into production systems
- Assist in automating processes for model monitoring and performance tracking
- Ensure data platform reliability through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
- Contribute to the deployment and management of data analytics and visualization tools
- Support data governance, security, privacy, and quality management practices

Requirements / Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field
Experience:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a similar role
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
- Familiarity with data lake or lakehouse architecture
Technical skills:
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, PySpark, or R
- Knowledge of database systems and data modeling concepts
- Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or similar tools
- Understanding of machine learning concepts and workflows
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau, Superset, or D3.js

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Salary Range (Kenya):
- Minimum: Ksh 2,100,000 per year
- Midpoint: Ksh 3,500,000 per year
- Maximum: Ksh 4,550,000 per year
