Duties and Responsibilities
The Corporate Communications Officer will support the Institute’s communication and branding activities through content creation, media production, and digital engagement. Key responsibilities include:
- Writing, editing, and reviewing communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, website content, speeches, and institutional reports
- Developing engaging content for social media platforms, including posts, captions, and digital campaigns
- Ensuring a consistent brand voice, tone, and messaging across all communication channels
- Planning, scripting, and storyboarding video and multimedia projects aligned with communication objectives
- Capturing high-quality video footage for events, interviews, campaigns, and promotional activities
- Operating and managing video production equipment, including cameras, lighting, and audio tools
- Independently setting up and coordinating video shoots in various locations
- Editing video content using professional video editing software
- Enhancing videos with graphics, subtitles, music, and visual effects to improve audience engagement
- Ensuring all video and multimedia content meets branding standards and communication goals
- Optimizing video and digital content for multiple platforms, including social media, websites, online video platforms, and broadcast use
- Supporting internal communication initiatives and public information campaigns
- Performing additional communication-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Requirements / Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the following minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Film Production, or another equivalent qualification from a recognized institution (mandatory)
- Membership in a relevant professional body such as the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), Media Council of Kenya (MCK), Kenya Union of Journalists (KUJ), or Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), where applicable (mandatory)
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital communication tools (mandatory)
- Strong organizational and time management skills (mandatory)
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to team-building efforts (mandatory)
- Good negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills (mandatory)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (mandatory)
Salary & Benefits (Estimated Range)
- Estimated monthly salary: KES 80,000 – KES 120,000, based on job grade KMR 06
- One-year contract, renewable subject to availability of funds and satisfactory performance
- Three-month probation period at the start of the contract
- Benefits and allowances provided in line with institutional policies
