Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and collect publicly available documents from trusted platforms such as government databases, academic libraries, and open-source repositories
- Review and confirm the licensing terms of each document to ensure compliance with approved standards (such as CC0, CC-BY, MIT, Apache 2.0, or similar)
- Record essential information including source links, licensing details, and metadata into tracking systems
- Detect and report issues such as unclear ownership, restricted access, or documents behind paywalls
- Work closely with internal teams such as data engineers and compliance specialists to resolve sourcing questions
- Stay updated on best practices related to open data usage and document licensing requirements
- Clearly communicate findings, risks, and documentation gaps through written and verbal reports
