Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead the Internal Audit function and provide strategic oversight to ensure effective governance, risk management, and internal control systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Internal Audit department
- Offer independent assurance to the Board and Management on governance, risk, and control processes
- Develop and implement risk-based annual audit plans aligned with company strategy
- Monitor the use of funds in electricity transmission projects funded by government and development partners
- Oversee audit staff performance, mentorship, and professional development
- Coordinate external audit processes and review financial statements
- Lead special audits, investigations, and compliance reviews
- Ensure proper follow-up on audit recommendations and Board decisions
- Support anti-corruption measures and integrity initiatives within the organization
- Evaluate risks related to operations, ICT systems, and business continuity
- Prepare and submit audit and integrity reports to relevant oversight bodies
- Provide advisory services to senior management and the Board

- Ensure effective implementation of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks

Requirements / Qualifications
To qualify for this Government job in Kenya, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Professional certification such as CPA (K) or ACCA
- Additional certification: CIA or CISA
